About Amy Dinsmore
Amy Dinsmore has studied with Peter Bloom, Louis Speyer, Joel Timm, Fred Cohen and Joe Turner. She is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory where she earned her B.A. degree in Applied Oboe. Subsequently, she earned a Master of Arts Degree in Music from Smith College.
Ms. Dinsmore has extensive experience performing with orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout New England. She holds the position of Principal Oboe with the Waltham Symphony, the New Hampshire Philharmonic and the French Symphony of Boston. She has also served as principal oboe with the Raylinmore Opera Company in Peterborough, NH and principal oboe and English horn with the Project Opera of Massachusetts in Northampton.
She is an active performer, frequently appearing in solo recitals as well as performances with orchestras. She has played with the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra (MD) and the Nashua Symphony Orchestra (NH), the Baltimore Choral Arts Orchestra, and the Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra among others. She has performed in recitals at the Tamworth Music Festival (NH), the Manor House Series (Glenelg, MD) the Walden School Concert Series (NH) and has appeared with the Iris Chamber Players, the Aviva Chamber Players and the Valley Baroque Ensemble (Holyoke, MA).
Ms. Dinsmore is also recognized as a teacher. She has taught in community music schools in Massachusetts, and the Peabody Preparatory in Maryland and currently maintains a private teaching studio in Lowell, Massachusetts.
